On November 11th, 2021, Onyx Group signed an agreement by which they sold to Millicom 45% of the participating stock from Tigo Guatemala, after 27 years in the telecommunications market.
Grupo Onyx decided to carry out this contractual operation in Guatemala and not elsewhere, with the objective of helping to strengthen the finances of the Guatemalan State. Grupo Onyx paid the Superintendencia de Administración Tributaria (SAT) on 1,436,854,265 quetzals (about US$184,212,085) as Income Tax for Capital Gains on December 10, 2021.
